Aspro Parks is leading the sustainable transformation with solar photovoltaic energy in its parks and leisure centres

26 de February de 2024

Aspro Parks, a leader in the parks and leisure industry in Europe, is at the forefront of sustainability and energy transformation.

In a world where the energy crisis demands innovative solutions, we have chosen solar PV as a powerful tool to drive our sustainability and ensure the viability of our business. Thanks to our efficient photovoltaic installations, we have achieved a total capacity of more than 3.2 MW in five of our centres located in Spain.

Our sustainable vision has led us to make the most of solar energy. With strategically located photovoltaic installations, such as the impressive parking canopies at Western Park and Aqualand El Arenal (Mallorca), we have demonstrated our commitment to clean and stable energy generation.

A change to fight for our planet

Aspro Parks is leading the sustainable transformation

In this process, ASPRO Parks has been supported by the SOLBAL II call for aid from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), aimed at developing photovoltaic energy projects in the Balearic Islands with the financial support of the European Union. It also takes the initiative to adapt to the guidelines of the Climate Change Law approved by the Balearic Government, which includes ambitious decarbonisation targets for 2025.

Specifically, the 988.20 kWp Western Park project has received a grant of 145,202 euros from the SOLBAL II programme and, thanks to this installation, a power of 1,280 MWh will be added, of which 652 MWh will be for the company’s own consumption, which represents 62% of the park’s total consumption. For its part, the Aqualand Arenal photovoltaic canopy project has also received a grant from the SOLBAL II programme worth 166,104 euros, and with its commissioning will add a further 1.080 MWp. This plant is expected to produce 1,500MWh of which 680MWh will be for self-consumption of the park and will account for 63% of its total consumption.

At Aspro Parks, we are excited to make a difference and become a leader in the adoption of renewable energy in the entertainment industry. We are committed to continuing to innovate and improve our environmental footprint, while delivering unforgettable experiences to our visitors.

Join us on this exciting journey to a more sustainable future and discover how solar energy is changing the way we enjoy leisure and entertainment. We invite you to experience the power of the sun as we immerse ourselves in a world full of fun, excitement and ecological responsibility every step of the way!
